Nestled in Nelligen

Leaving Braidwood we headed down the winding bends of the Clyde Mountain Range - 55kms of what use to be a fairly treachorous stretch of road, heavily used by the many public servants in Canberra who travel down to coast on most weekends.  Barry drove the bus down, and I travelled behind in the ute, as it was hardly worth our while loading the ute on and off.The weather was typical for this time of year, with the fog envoloping the beautiful rain forest which is seen on both sides of the road.  The magnificent and ancient ferns are something to behold and something magical seems to arise out of the mist, when the sun just happens to make an appearance.

It took us about an hour before we got to the caravan park, and we met up with Kay and Barry, before setting up camp in the pouring rain - a sign of what was ahead of us for the weekend.  Paying $30 a night for a camp is something a little out of the ordinary for us these days, and most of these caravan parks are more like a resort these days and provide tennis courts, water games, spas, and a whole lot of other features that we don't necessarily want, especially when you have the Clyde  River at your doorstep and so many wonderful walks throughout the area.  Our site was so unlevel and just provided the perfect set up for a dam outside our front door.  After one brief shower there was about 6 inches of water outside the door and Barry's thongs almost started floating away.  We had the jacks of the bus lifted so high..to level the bus that the front wheels were 3 inches of the ground, and that is on top of the 3 inch blocks the jacks were on....so unlevel was the site.  Oh well..we know better next time..but then there probably won't be a next time for this park lol.

Our Water Views!! .. for which we paid $30 A Night
Anyway had a beaut couple of days with Kay and Barry and even caught a movie together..The Kings Speech, was just brilliant and well deserving of the accolades at the Academy Awards.  The fish and chips at the boat shed in Batemans Bay, always good and the icecreams from the ice creamery opposite ...just great.

Lovely to share some time with family and catch up before we head on our way again.

Not many photo opportunities while we were there, but the couple of opportunities I did get, have turned out ok and hope you enjoy them.

After saying our good byes, Kay and Barry headed off towards Goulburn, and we headed  up to Milton, where we headed to the showground to camp.  The councils that provide camping at their showground facilities have their heads screwed on right, just basic, but all we could ever want.  One problem when we got to Milton??? We could only stay one night..and that was really pushing our luck, as they were preparing for the annual show and so we got kicked out, and so where on the road the next day.  So much for our few days at Milton.

So off we headed..but where to from here?? Decisions, decisions hmmmm

So tune in for the next chapter to see where we have ended up..

So until next time
